STUDENT POSTERS

The Source to Stream Conference invites undergraduate and post-graduate students to submit abstracts for poster presentations.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

DEADLINE: Monday, February 3, 2025

SUBMISSION MUST INCLUDE:

Title: A title that summarizes your project relating to stormwater management and/or erosion and sediment control, or natural channel design.

Abstract: Please submit a summary of your project, which should not exceed one page, using the form below.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MUST BE ADDRESSED IN THE BODY OF YOUR ABSTRACT

1. Situation/Problem or Objective: Clear description of the technical issue and context or reason for work and how it is relevant to the industry.

2. Methodology: Detailed methods, procedures or testing are described.

3. Results: Sustained finding of resolution or attempt at resolution.

4. Lessons Learned: Conclusion framed as take-away lessons or stated.

FORMAT

Student posters must be 24 x 36 inches or 27 x 40 inches and printed on firm material able to stand up on an easel – no standard printing paper.

The student with the top voted poster will win a complimentary conference pass to Source to Stream 2026! Additional benefits:

Students selected to participate in the poster session will receive a complimentary conference pass, valued at $495. Only one complimentary pass per poster submission.

Undergraduate students in final year of program

Post-graduate students in Masters or PhD programs

Students selected for poster presentation will be notified by Friday, February 14, 2025, at which time additional details will be provided.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

(i) The presenter will take full responsibility for the content of their abstract, including any defamatory material or material which infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party

(ii) The presenter understands that, while they retain ownership of copyright of their abstract, Source to Stream 2025 may publish and reproduce my abstract and any biographical information, provided by the presenter in the final Conference program, proceedings and on the Conference website.

(iii) The presenter warrants that their work is factually accurate and contains no matter libelous or otherwise unlawful; that such work constitutes their own original work.

CONSENT FOR DIGITAL IMAGES

TRCA will be recording the Source to Stream 2025 Conference through video or photographs. As part of my participation in the Source to Stream Conference, I understand and acknowledge that my likeness/image has been digitally recorded ("Digital Image") by or on behalf of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (“TRCA”), for use by TRCA or an authorized third party in promotional and other activities as described below. “Digital Image” includes video recording, photographs, testimonials, quotations, and any image technology.

I hereby authorize and give my full consent to TRCA and its assigns, successors, officers, directors, employees, agents, officials, servants, and representatives, the right to use, reproduce, distribute, and display my name and likeness/image and the Digital Image in all forms and media by TRCA and/or an authorized third party for purposes of publicity, advertising, sale and promotion including but not limited to use in flyers, brochures, web site, digital media, videos, displays, and general TRCA promotion throughout the world. I hereby assign all rights in the Digital Image to TRCA and hereby waive all rights in and to the Digital Image including any moral rights I may have in my likeness/image and/or the Digital Image.

I expressly release TRCA and its assigns, successors, officers, directors, employees, agents, officials, servants, and representatives, from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with any such use of the Digital Image, including, without limitation, any and all claims for invasion of privacy, infringement of my right of publicity, defamation (including libel and slander), or any other cause of action arising out of the production, distribution, broadcast, exhibition or other exploitation of the Digital Image.

I give this release voluntarily, with full understanding of its contents and with the knowledge that TRCA is relying on the foregoing. If the Digital Image is of a minor for whom I have responsibility as parent/guardian, I hereby acknowledge and confirm that I have authority to execute this release on behalf of the minor.
